The Tennessee Century Farms Program recognizes and documents the contributions of families who have owned and farmed the same land in the state for at least 100 years. The program website includes brief histories of Century Farms in Cannon County. The Farms of Cannon County digital collection includes photographs of land owned by the following Century Farm families.

Cooper Farm

View images of Everett R. Cooper milking a cow, taking a soil sample, examining residue from harvested barley, and observing a newly constructed trench silo. Joseph A. and Margaret King Cooper established the farm in 1902. The Century Farms web site includes a photo of the Cooper family in 1913, as well as a brief history of the Cooper Farm.

DKM Farm (Parker Family)

View photos of a combine and a corn harvester. Records for these photos list Kenneth Parker as the farm owner. The Century Farms history of the DKM Farm notes that Kenneth and Delois Parker became the second generation to own the property in 1958.

Vinson Farm

View images of tobacco harvesting and stream channelization on the Vinson farm. In 1890, Theophilus and Parilee Vinson purchased 70 acres in the 6th Civil District. Robert W. Vinson acquired the land in 1962. Learn more about the history of the farm.
