In the foreground is the Bethel Presbyterian Church, built in 1884 and the first black church in Dandridge.
The building in the background was originally a Baptist Church torn down when the property was bought
for the construction of the high school in the 1920's. It was later rebuilt and is presently the AME Zion
Church on Meeting Street. The woman and child are Kate Slover Rimmer and her son Gene.
