I attended Allen-White from Grades 1 through 12 (1936-1948), graduating in May 1948.
Auditorium/Study Hall - used mainly by High School Dept.
Portable stage used for programs at end of school year and other special programs.
Coal-burning stove furnished heating
Four light fixtures with white opaque globes supended from the ceiling provided lighting
One cloak room was provided for high school students
Wood tables and chairs were used for seating
Oiled push brooms were used to sweep the wood floors to keep dust from scattering
Ceiling and walls were of wood painted dark brown
Doors were also of wood and painted brown with metal door knobs
A bell housed in the principal's office was used to signal the beginning and ending of each school day as well as for hourly class changes and recess
