STATE OF TENNESSEE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENT AND CONSERVATION DIVISION OF ARCHAEOLOGY January 3, 1996 Mr. Brian R. Eades 5103 EDMONDSON PIKE NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE 37211-5129 (615)741-1588 FAX (615)741-7329 The Center for Historic Preservation Box 80 Middle Tennessee State University Murfreesboro, Tennessee 37132 Re: Webster Farm Mound, Maury County Dear Brian: Thank you for contacting us regarding a prehistoric mound on the Webster farm. As we discussed by phone, there is no information in our files about the mound, only the Webster site, a mile southeast of the mound. I recorded the mound into our permanent site record, assigning it state site number, 40MU551, which you can reference as the SITS (Smithsonian Institution Trinomial System) number in the National Register nomination if you so choose. Please look over the enclosed pages to see if i correctly recorded youi information. Changes or additions, such as site dimensions, can easily be made and I welcome further input. If the owners agree, the Division could visit the property before you finalize the nomination for presentation to the State Review Board. Let me know if you wish to arrange such a meeting. Call if you have questions. Sincerely, ~ f~ -~r- Site File Curator I
