"Whereas by a decree of the Chancery Court at Murfreesboro for Rutherford County, Tennessee, made at the October Term 1866, thereof, in the case of John N. Clark, adminstrator of James M. Collier, deceased, EL Collier and others, certain real estate belong to the estate of said James M. Collier deed and order to be sold by James M. Tompkins, Clerk and Master of said court and commissioner appointed for that purpose: and in pursuance of said decree a sale was had of said real estate on the 8th day of December, 1866. When NC Collier became the purchaser of two tracts or parcels of land at the aggregate price of three thousand, one hundred and thirty-two dollars and seventy cents ($3,132.70). And reported to the April Term 1867 of said court and was by decree thereof confirmed = and at the April Term 1868.
Land bounded as follows: 1st beginning at an oak of the west bank of the west fork of Stones River, it being N.D. Cowan (now deceased) North east corner running thence north 88 degrees west with said Cowan's land, 166 poles to a stake - Cowans corner, thence north with J.M Tompkins land 105 and 1/4 poles to a stake, thence north 89 degrees east 56 poles to an oak, thence north 20 degrees east 14 poles to a sugar tree, thence north 16 degrees east 19 poles to an Elm on bank of said river, thence along the middle of said river until it meanders to the beginning, containing 115 acres and 51 poles more or less. 2nd beginning at a stake in the middle of the Nashville and Murfreesboro Turnpike road, it being J.M. Tompkins land west of the US Cemetery."
