Description |
Negative 0009 of the Montgomery County Historical Society’s inventory of “Civil War Negatives” of Albert Kern. The inventory reads "Perspective of Battlefield (wide angle)". |
Additional notes |
Negative by Albert Kern of Dayton, Ohio, who made several trips to Stones River Battlefield site between 1896 and 1904. An unpaved road, lined by barbed-wire fencing on the left and post-and-rail fencing on the right, cuts through mostly open land that does not appear to be cultivated. Several poles with single cross bars, possibly for telegraph lines or electric power, also line the road, and a small bridge with high wooden walls crosses a small creek just over the hill. (For another view of this bridge, see: "Civil War Negatives Inventory" of Murfreesboro: Negative number 0032.) |
